*** STAGE 1 NOW OPEN ***

The Waitomo Great Walk is a 2 or 3-day hike perfect for corporate team building, friends and families. The Walk starts and ends at Waitomo Caves Village. It wends its way through deep limestone gorges and primordial native forest, over rolling farmland to lookouts with stunning panoramic views of Mt. Ruapehu and the sea.

We transport you from Waitomo Caves Village to the start of the Waitomo Great Walk high in the Tawarau Forest, approximately 24 kilometers (15 miles) west of Waitomo. The hiking trail leads to stunning waterfalls, limestone bluffs, through forested hills and farmland onto the Waipuna Ridge and then follows the Waitomo Stream back down into the Waitomo Caves Village.

  • 4 to 8 hours hiking each day
